Versatility in every situation
Your vinyl turntable is equipped with a cell that can be either MM (Moving Magnet) or MC (Moving Coil) type, requiring in each case an adapted preamplification. The iPhono3 Black Label, thanks to numerous settings hidden underneath the unit, allows you to adapt to each system, defining a precise load and gain according to your cell.

A flawless design
Despite its compact form factor, the iPhono3 Black Label incorporates many proprietary technologies such as Class A TubeState and Direct Drive Servoless, specially developed by AMR for iFi Audio. All this is supported by audiophile components from such well-known manufacturers as Burr-Brown, TDK and Nichicon.
With such circuits and components, the preamplifier achieves an extremely low noise level with a THD of less than 0.005%.
Class A TubeState
The proprietary Class A TubeState technology is the result of almost four decades of research by designer Thorsten Loesch on tube and transistor equipment.
The aim is not to add distortion, but to avoid certain types of distortion. Some distortion is inherent in solid state circuits and can degrade the quality of the audio message. These are therefore eliminated from these circuits to obtain a clear sound clarity.
Perfect consistency with vinyl equalization
Since not all vinyls are pressed in the same way and do not necessarily use the same RIAA equalization, the iPhono3 Black Label allows you to adapt to these differences. To do so, it offers 6 equalization curves, adapted to the main types of pressing, in order to obtain the best possible reproduction.
Direct Driver Servoless
The Direct Drive Servoless technology contributes greatly to the playback quality enabled by the iPhono3 Black Label. If it doesn't show up in the measurements, it shows up when you listen to it.
Unlike the design of a standard phono stage, the iPhono3 Black Label performs direct coupling, i.e. without a coupling capacitor, from the cell to the output, without the need for a conventional DC servo.
DC Infinity
The iPhono3 Black Label takes advantage of the unique DC-Infinity technology, allowing the DC gain to be boosted in an absolutely impressive way. Once the feedback loop is closed, this nearly infinite DC gain cancels all offset voltages to deliver an output coupled with a 0V DC offset. To achieve this, Infinity DC technology only changes the gain below 0.01Hz, without altering the behaviour of the AC circuit at higher frequencies, injecting neither noise nor distortion into the audio signal.
The iPhono3 Black Label takes advantage of the unique DC-Infinity technology, allowing the DC gain to be boosted in an absolutely impressive way.
High quality components
The iFi Audio phono preamplifier integrates very high quality components, carefully selected for their performance. These include Nichicon audio capacitors, Panasonic OSCON/ECPU capacitors, MELF resistors and TDK COG capacitors.
iPower X Power Supply
The iPhono3 Black Label comes with the iFi Audio iPower X power supply, providing an extremely clean and stable power supply. It delivers an electrical signal without noise and distortion, greatly enhancing accurate and detailed sound reproduction.
