As the successor to the ZEN Can 2, IfI Audio's ZEN Can 3 benefits from an improved look and a number of additional features. This Class A headphone amplifier features a purely analog design, with no DSP for a more natural sound, and extended equalization parameters. In addition to the Xbass + and Xspace modes, it now features equalization modes for video games, movies and XMEMS micro-speakers. The ZEN CAN 3 has been specially designed to power a wide range of headphones and IEMs on the market, thanks to its power of up to 2000mW on its balanced output. In addition, a gain adjustment potentiometer provides 4 levels of gain adjustment (0dB/6dB/12dB/18dB), while a second potentiometer lets you select the input source. This headphone amplifier features 3 analog inputs: stereo RCA, 3.5mm jack and balanced 4.4mm jack. In addition to the two headphone outputs on the front panel, it features a balanced stereo 4.4mm jack line output for use as a preamplifier.

IFI Audio ZEN Can 3: a powerful headphone amplifier
The iFi Audio ZEN Can 3, thanks to its Class A discrete component amplification circuit, is capable of delivering up to 2000mW @ 64 ohm on its balanced headphone output, and up to 1600mW @ 32 ohm on its 6.35mm jack output. This is complemented by a 4-level gain control for adaptation to all headphones and in-ear monitors on the market. Despite its high output power, this headphone amplifier manages to maintain a THD < 0.006% and an SNR greater than 119dBA. The ZEN Can 3 amplifier stage uses proprietary iFi/AMR "OV" series OPAs.

The ZEN Can 3 is a major improvement, with new equalization parameters. The main new feature is the xMEMS mode, enabling the balanced output to reach an output voltage of 21Vpp.
